In a quest to raise awareness around homelessness in Australia and New Zealand, Volcom are partnering up with YOU to help make a difference. Until May 31st, Volcom will be running the Give Jeans A Chance programme, an initiative specifically focused on donating jeans to the ever increasing number of homeless.

Last year the campaign donated over 3,000 pairs of jeans to homeless throughout the country. In 2012, Volcom aims to raise enough jeans to distribute denim to those in need at the Auckland City Mission, geting them into a pair of jeans just in time for winter.

“I am really excited coming into the second year of this programme,” says Volcom Pro Skater Shane Azar. “We had such a good response form the New Zealand public last year, and for our first year running this event, we could not have been happier with the outcome,” he says.

“This year we are looking to smash the number of jeans donated last year by aligning our program not only with our retail stores, but several schools across the country and key businesses relevant to our market,” he says. “If last years response is anything to go by, we are sure to have a lot of jeans for the homeless in 2012.”

Want to help? Start collecting your old but wearable jeans and take them down to your local Volcom retailer. Anyone who donates a pair of jeans will receive a limited edition GJAC Sticker, Skate DVD, GJAC tote bag or GJAC hat and will be automatically entered to win a THRILLS Custom Motorbike and a year’s supply of Volcom Brand Jeans!

50 more winners will be randomly chosen from each participating store to receive a pair of Volcom Brand Jeans.

More information and participating retailers in other regions can be found at www.volcom.com.au

Anyone who donates a pair of jeans goes into the running to win a custom Thrills motor cycle.
