A few months ago US deodorant company Old Spice ran arguably the most successful, entertaining branded campaign ever executed in the big, bad but ever-so-democratic world of social media. The Old Spice Man meme garnered 150 million YouTube hits via 186 video responses to questions posed by fans on sites like Twitter, Facebook, Reddit and Digg, all produced in three days.

But with his recent parody of the Old Spice Man, Grover (of Sesame Street fame) has laid claim to the mantle of the world wide web's smoothest operator, no doubt buoyed by the former's recent attempts to unsuccessfully woo an Australian television journalist while he was being interviewed at Bondi.
