Instagram's favorite activewear brand, Alo, has opened its second Australian store, this time in the heart of Sydney's CBD. The LA activewear and wellness label — a favourite of Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid — officially opened its The Galeries location on Friday, September 11, following its first Australian outpost at Chatswood Chase in May. The new store sits at RG01-03, 500 George Street, stocking Alo's full range of women's and men's apparel, footwear and accessories, alongside the wellness and community programming the brand has built its retail spaces around. Leggings and bras run from $100 to $200, with footwear from around $300. Founded in Los Angeles in 2007, Alo now operates more than 100 stores across 26 markets in 128 countries, and has built its following largely through celebrity wear and influencer culture — with Kaia Gerber, Addison Rae and Victoria Beckham also regularly photographed in its pieces. The brand calls its retail spaces "sanctuaries rather than conventional retail," and its Australian expansion isn't slowing down — a further store is planned for Westfield Bondi Junction, a 700-square-meter space across two levels, as part of four Australian locations set to open in 2026. Speaking on the broader Australian rollout, Alo's global director of talent acquisition Jessi Jones said the brand's local locations reflect "the vibrant Lower North Shore" energy of Chatswood, while Paul Tinkler, managing director for Australia and New Zealand, called the launch "an incredible opportunity to launch and lead our first Alo destination in Australia." Alo at The Galeries is open Monday to Wednesday and Friday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm, Thursday from 10am to 9pm, and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
