The Strokes Set to Release New Album in March

The band that make you want to make out with everyone around you and the 21st century's saviours of rock 'n' roll are well and truly back.

The Strokes have just announced that their fourth album Angles is set to be released on March 18th. That's some very exciting news right there. Angles marks the band's first release since 2006, and promises to be a return to the immediacy of their earlier two albums, which helped set the tone for an entire decade of indie rock.

Tired and listless, they started splintering off into side projects and solo albums. Then, 2010 saw them re-emerge in a major way, touring globally and headlining Splendour In The Grass with what was the best and most intensely euphoric show of the festival, causing a guy standing close to me to declare, "I am going to make out with every girl in a one metre circumference because of this", with his fist solemnly held aloft. They're that kind of band. And they are well and truly back.

Angles' first single, 'Under Cover of Darkness,' will be released soon.
