Tasty share plates and warm sake await you at one of Melbourne's very best Izakayas. Located on Carlisle Street just a hop, a skip and a jump from Balaclava Station, the menu at En Izakaya is split into three sections: 'from the garden', 'from the paddock', and 'from the sea'. The standout dishes from each would have to be the seared tofu and miso infused baked eggplant, salmon and hamachi kingfish sushi, and Grade 9+ wagyu beef meatballs with sweet soy sauce and wasabi mayo, respectively. Pair it with a little rice wine and settle in for the night: you're not leaving any time soon. Frankly, why would you want to?
