UPDATE: MAY 13, 2020 — A new gluten free kitchen has popped up at Melbourne's Hotel Windsor. Run by coeliac pastry chef Felix Goodwin, it's currently selling GF choc chip cookies, chocolate and candied popcorn babka, cinnamon doughnuts and and canelés. To order, head over to The Hotel Windsor's gift shop. Both next-day pick up and delivery within 15 kilometres of the CBD are available.

Serving up Melburnians high tea for centuries (literally, centuries), The Hotel Windsor is a high tea institution, complete with elegant, delicate ribbon sandwiches. Served out of their restaurant One Eleven Spring Street, the space is adorned with glittering chandeliers, velvety chairs and stretches of Victorian-style carpet, there are over ten speciality teas available every afternoon. Think peppermint lavender herbal teas and The Hotel Windsor's famous afternoon blend.

If you're there outside of that time between lunch and dinner and want to have, well, lunch or dinner (or breakfast), the restaurant also has an a la carte menu and a pre-theatre menu to order from.
