Overview

ASICS SportStyle is bringing its signature blend of design, movement and culture back to Melbourne this August, transforming the CBD into a hub of daily creative residencies, workshops, collaborations and sneaker launches for five days only.

Running from Wednesday, August 5–Sunday, August 9, the ASICS SportStyle Pop-Up at 264 Exhibition Street invites visitors to explore the brand's latest lifestyle collection while taking part in a program inspired by its Japanese heritage and "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body" philosophy.

Throughout the five days, the space will host a rotating lineup of experiences spanning art, fashion, coffee, food and mindful movement, alongside exclusive product drops and hands-on workshops, all led by Melbourne's creative community.

Imogen Sist

The workshop lineup includes a somatic movement session with Imogen Sist exploring the connection between mind and body; a hands-on workshop with Abbotsford clay school Amfora Studio, where you'll create your own ceramic piece using custom ASICS SportStyle textures and stamps; and a shoe customisation workshop with Chase Shiel, giving participants the chance to personalise a one-of-a-kind pair of sneakers with custom dyes and lace swaps.

Those wanting to delve into Japanese traditions can join artist Junko Azukawa for a Goshuin workshop, learning the art of Japanese calligraphy and stamp-making, while sneaker enthusiasts can revive their favourite pair at hands-on cleaning workshops led by The Sneaker Laundry.

Beyond the creative sessions, the pop-up's on-site cafe has been curated with a strong Japanese influence. Melbourne favourite Everyday Coffee will be pouring specialty coffee and drinks throughout the entire residency, while a rotating lineup of food and beverage collaborators takes over each day with limited-time menus.

Wednesday sees Hugo's Deli serving up its beloved sandwiches, before Attakai dishes out Japanese-style sandos on Thursday. On Friday, Norimaki takes over with handcrafted sushi rolls, followed by INBTWN's matcha-focused drinks (including the signature Einspanner and Jasmine Matcha Cloud) on Saturday. Bake Stand rounds out the week on Sunday with its signature Melbourne-style cookies, featuring flavours such as Strawberry Matcha Latte, Campfire S'Mores and Hojicha.

Pop-up visitors will also have exclusive first access to the Crafts For Minds x PERKS AND MINI GEL-STRATUS MC™ range, followed by a release on perksandmini.com. Entry is free, so book in a workshop session, gather the group chat to check out the food and drink residencies and get ready for five days of creativity and collaboration.

Whether you're dropping in for a coffee and cookie between city errands or wanting to immerse yourself in Japanese tradition, the ASICS SportStyle Pop-Up is one to check out this August.
