From Friday, July 10–Sunday, July 12, French haircare brand Kérastase is taking over the entire Paris End hotel with a glossy cafe menu, 60s-inspired hair salon and late-night social club. And yes, entry is free for at least 1500 people, complete with a gift bag and complimentary perks.
We recommend starting at the Glazed Cafe. Le Méridien's lobby cafe, Intermission, has been reimagined around two gloss-giving Kérastase products. Everyone gets a complimentary bev – pick from fruity iced teas and refreshers – and glazed madeleines dreamed up by Michelin-trained Executive Chef Hervé Borghini, plus their pick of six gelato and sorbet scoops from Le Scoop.
Upstairs, a Glow-Up Lounge combines the design of a 60s salon (the decade Kérastase was founded) with Kérastase's contemporary K-Scan technology to offer bespoke scalp-and-hair diagnoses and dry-styling appointments. It's the perfect stop for a quick touch-up before drinks in Le Méridien's basement.
Le Méridien's subterranean restaurant and cocktail bar, Dolly, is going analog with vinyl records, vintage televisions, and stacks of art books. Bathed in vivid violet tones that nod to Kérastase's Blond Absolu range, the moody club will serve up four signature cocktails, including fruity martinis and cherry-infused lemon drop sours.
An $80 VIP ticket promises an express experience with the same goodies, a dry-styling sesh, and a night out at the Social Club with a complimentary cocktail. Three levels of the hotel have been transformed into suites filled with a grand's worth of Kératase products, masks and other beauty extras, so those looking to stay overnight are in for a treat.
Kérastase Society runs from Friday, July 10–Sunday, July 12 at Le Méridien Melbourne, 20 Bourke Street. The Glow-Up Lounge will be in service from 9.30am–6pm daily, and Social Club runs from 7pm till late on Saturday and Sunday.
