Overview

Go-to riverside spot The Boatbuilders Yard, locally known as Boaties, is taking advantage of its large outdoor space and turning it into a tropical beach club, so you can keep the vacay vibes going a little longer. Expect a tonne of sand covering the floors, plus a fresh lick of paint, grassy areas, bean bags and deck chairs to help you relax in the sun or under starry skies. Plus, every Friday–Sunday, you can kick back to live DJ sets, with the venue's epic lineup of top local disk-spinners.

And it doesn't stop there. Boaties has a heap of food and drink offers to add to the overall laidback vibes. You'll be sipping summer ales, frozen piña coladas and other tropical-style cocktails. For food, think oysters, zesty prawns, grilled octopus with chorizo, haloumi fries, guacamole and Portuguese-style chicken.

If you're in a group of 15–20 people, for $89 a head, you can opt for the DIY barbecue package, too, which includes three hours of smoked meats and bottomless cocktails — all in your own private beach lounge area. It's also got date night and celebratory affairs covered, with a bottle of bubbly and two lobster rolls available for a reasonable $125.

The Boatbuilders Yard Beach Club is running till April 2021. For more details — and to book a table — head here.
