Overview

Then glittering blues of the Mediterranean and golden Euro tans might have been flooding your feed lately. But if you haven't made an escape from the temperamental temperatures of Oz this winter, the following news is sure to prick up your ears. Campari — the iconic red bitters at the heart of a negroni — is giving away a trip for two to Italy. How do you get your entries in? Just start sipping on negronis.

Negroni Week is the international celebration of the drink's flavour and history and takes over the collective cocktail consciousness for seven days each year. In 2022 it's ramping up, commemorating a full decade of dedicated dalliances with the tipple.

From Friday, September 9 till Friday, September 30, venues across NSW and Victoria will be putting negronis in the forefront. First, you need your Negroni Digital Passport. Then, once you've registered, head to the participating venues where you just purchase a negroni (devised by top bartenders) in exchange for a stamp on your passport — and an entry to the comp.

Melburnites, you can venture to Carlton Yacht Club, Baxters Lot or Collingwood's Le Bon Ton. Or stick to the city limits and stop in at HER, Goldilocks Rooftop Bar or Treviso. If you're in Sydney, start your sampling with a cocktail by the beach at Lola's Level 1, before working your way through the twists on the classic at The Lobo, Burrow Bar, Apollonia and Hickson House Distilling Co.

Plus, if you head to the free Negroni Week Launch Parties on Sunday, September 11, you'll score a bonus double stamp. Sydney's Earl's Juke Joint is prepped to kick off the week with a DJ, four-part negroni menu and complimentary snacks from Continental Deli and pizza by the slice from Bella Brutta. And in Melbourne, The Rooftop at QT has live music, complimentary bites and — of course — negronis aplenty. Plus, $1 from each negroni sold is being donated to charity.

Throughout September, there are 45 venues participating across NSW and Victoria, all fully stocked with a perfect pour — and twists — of Campari, gin and vermouth. And during Negroni Week, your entries will be doubled (not that the offering needed any sweetening).

Head to Campari's website to sign up for your passport. FYI, there is a maximum of two stamps per day, per person.
