Cerberus Beach House

In a century-old boatshed, this seafood favourite serves oysters and ocean views in equal measure.

Overview

Cerberus Beach House has been perched over Half Moon Bay since 2009, named after the historic HMVS Cerberus that once patrolled these waters. The boatshed runs two ways: an elegant upstairs restaurant with sweeping views across the bay, and a downstairs kiosk for takeaway fish and chips and coffee.

Upstairs, the seafood-driven menu runs from oysters, natural or Kilpatrick, to entrees like garlic prawns with confit tomatoes and chargrilled sourdough, pan-seared scallops with speck and honey mustard glaze, and Szechuan fried calamari with Asian slaw. Mains include prawn and crab linguini with chilli, lime, and garlic pangrattato; Humpty Doo barramundi with smoked salmon velouté; confit duck leg with lentil cassoulet; and a seafood platter for two. For those after something not from the ocean below, there's wagyu beef pappardelle and a Jerusalem artichoke risotto with truffle butter and saltbush.

Dessert covers a soufflé of the day, sticky date pudding with Baileys caramel sauce, and an affogato with a liqueur of your choice. Cerberus is also a member of the GoodFish sustainability project, keeping the menu stocked with sustainable, local seafood.
