Overview

Once again the reputable Show Me Shorts film festival hits Auckland City. Head to Aotea Square and pull up a beanbag to celebrate New Zealand cinema.

Show Me Shorts is New Zealand's leading international and local short film festival. It is an Academy Awards-accredited festival that shines a spotlight on short films every spring.

This family friendly night showcases nine short films by top Kiwi filmmakers and has a total running time of just under one and a half hours. The free screening covers an eclectic range of films from those about robot love, to eco warriors, to musical animals.

Starting at 7pm, there's plenty of time to grab a quick bite nearby. We recommend The Kimchi Project on Lorne Street. Follow this with a tasty treat from Uncle Tetsu's Japanese Cheesecake on Queen Street.

Leave the car at home for a stress-free evening. No tickets are required for this event, and it is free to attend so just rock up to the square with a picnic blanket.
