Safe In Sound
Shoes have never been so arty.
Overview
We have partnered with the popular clean soda Höpt to present a selection of the coolest, cleanest events in New Zealand.
Safe in Sound gives the country's finest artists, graphic designers and tattooists the challenge of transforming a pair of white Nike trainers into a visual masterpiece. Each artist will translate their own fancy design onto the trainers before they go on display in Britomart's, Fukuko, and the Nike Britomart store.
Artists include: Nick ‘Ikarus’ Tam, Otis Frizzell, Component, Misi Sharplin, Paul Walsh, Arcade, Graeme Allan, Elliot Francis Stewart, Gasp and Dan Tippett.
The shoes will be auctioned online via TradeMe until the end of October with money raised going directly to the Raukatauri Music Therapy Centre, New Zealand’s only music therapy centre that works with special need children. The initiative is run by W1 and One Percent Collective, a notforprofit charity that makes it easy for people to donate 1% of their income to charity.
To get your hands on some Höpt, head to the Safe in Sound at Fukuko and check out the shoes while enjoying some Höpt Soda.
