A New Grocer Lands Inside Maison Balzac's Stylish Surry Hills Boutique
The makers of whimsical glassware are dabbling in pantry goods at MB Marché this June.
Maison Balzac founder Elise Pioch Chappell developed her eye for beautiful objects under the tutelage of Martin Margiela. Turns out, she has impeccable taste in groceries too.
The homeware label will transform into a Parisian-style marché for one month, stocked with the team's favourite accoutrements. Expect French pantry staples like salt, sardines and pasta, alongside sweet and savoury finds from top local producers that make everyday meals feel special.

Bottles of olive oil from Goldi and its chilli-infused counterpart sit beside dedicated glass-blown vessels by Maison Balzac. As does Six-Eyed Scorpion crispy chilli, which matches another piece with a bright red chilli knob.
Also on the shelves: Pepe Saya's butter, salted caramels and drinking chocolate, plus Olsson's citrus- and chilli-spiked cocktail salts. Fresh eggs are supplied by one of the Maison Balzac crew's Coledale family farm, while hexagonal jars of Mountain Mist honey come courtesy of Elise's relative.

Weekends call for a longer, more considered shop. Refresh the vases with fresh blooms and bouquets from Buds and Bowers, or pick up some sourdough loaves from Newtown bakery Tonton Bread.
MB Marché is happening until Tuesday, July 14 at Maison Balzac - Surry Hills, 545A Bourke St, Surry Hills. Head to the website for more information.
