Overview

Bondi Junction is about to be spoilt for gastronomical choice: The Eastern has opened three new venues within its newly redeveloped floors. Joining El Topo, the popular Mexican rooftop bar that opened late November last year, are Chimmi's, a vibrant rum cantina; Anatoli, a modern Greek addition; and The Publican, a haven for craft beer and gourmet jaffles.

The Publican welcomes you on the ground floor with 1930s nostalgic decor and over 100 craft beers and ciders to wrap your lips around. The enticing jaffle menu will put to shame your homemade ham and cheese versions, with The Publican testing out gourmet combos, like pork belly and apple, to complement your cold one.

The first floor houses chef Matt Fitzgerald (El Topo, The Bentley, Bather's Pavilion) and his modern Greek restaurant, Anatoli. Think sophisticated Mediterranean fare that celebrates traditional Greek flavours with local Australian produce. Anatoli is aiming to champion fine food and wine in Bondi Junction, and with a 200-bottle wine list, we think they might just do it.

The fiesta starts on level three with Chimmi's opening its South American-inspired doors and offering you a Latin-infused night of rum, dancing and cigars. With over 100 rums from all over Latin America, a fun cocktail menu and traditional empanadas to fend off any hungry chicos, you'll be livin' la vida loca in no time.

All this plus the the cricket-serving, tequila-slamming, taco-munching on the roof at El Topo — there's a global flavour to meet everyone's taste cravings here. Two's company, three's a crowd and four is definitely about to be a party at The Eastern.
