The musical smorgasbord that is South by Southwest sees 2,000 indie acts and the better part of the music industry descend each year on Austin, a liberal hotbed of a town located in the otherwise red state of Texas. Austin's famous Sixth Street shuts down and for ten days, while most of the city's college population are on spring break flashing their bodily parts for plastic beads in obscure Mexican port towns, the place turns into one big melting pot of musical talent, unsigned and otherwise.
