Do you have a signature dish that inspires ongoing salivation? A secret recipe for which friends plead? A confection that weakens the knees? Well, perhaps it’s time for you to share your culinary craft with a few new tastebuds. And we can think of no better source for appreciative palates than the Secret Foodies’ Potluck Pop-Up, which is landing in Darlinghurst this month.

Since April 2010, the surprise dining mavens at Secret Foodies have hijacked restaurants, rooftops and laneways across Sydney on a mission to foster community in this land’s busiest city. They have envisioned events where food lovers could “meet at the table as strangers and leave as friends”. Then they make those events happen. Three years on, they are celebrating their success with a series of intimate potluck dinners in an Oxford Street shopfront window.

The Potluck Pop-Up will run from April 18 to 28, with attendance limited to a mere 30 guests each evening. Your $30 ticket will not only guarantee a seat at the communal table but will also include Italian wine from Direct Wine Cellars, boutique brews from Murray’s Craft Brewing Co., bread from Sonoma, butter from Pepe Saya and desserts from Home Made Fine Foods. Plus, each patron will also be bringing a unique something to share. Whether sweet or savoury, all types of food (and all types of people) are welcome. The best part? You won’t need to do the dishes — just make sure to bring one.
