Our fascination with celebrities and their private lives is a phenomenon that often beggars belief. Nothing short of President Obama ordering an invasion of Canada would have pushed Tom Cruise's latest divorce from the front pages, and the reality that there are multiple websites dedicated entirely to Angelina Jolie's tattoos does at times make us worry. But for better or worse, we remain transfixed, often more for the mundanity and banality than for the glitz and glamour (although Rich Kids of Instagram specialises in all of the above).
