Thursday night is a great night to go out. The weekend is so close you can almost reach out and touch it, and a hangover at work is not so bad knowing you only have one more day to get through. The guys at Helm Bar must have been thinking along the same lines when they came up with the idea for their Wine Night series. Each Thursday from 6pm, an Invivo wine will be featured and will set you back only $5 a glass. Before you complain that you can get a schooner at your local for that price, note that these wines are not exactly equivalent to a VB. Invivo is one of the most awarded wineries in New Zealand over the past three years, winning the world's best Sav Blanc at the 2011 Cathay Pacific IWSX wine competition. Trust me, I've taste tested and these wines are all good. Set yourself up on the Lower Deck, enjoy the view and munch on a delicious snack from the bar while you're at it. One round, and I guarantee you'll be penning next Thursday in the diary. Get in quick though, the final night is on the 15th of March.
