Welcome to the month of Mo Bros, when men take pleasure in sprouting a bush on their top lip and their partners don’t mind turning a blind eye, or a cheek. Now in its seventh year, Movember is a month long charity event that raises vital funds and awareness for mens' health issues; specifically prostate cancer and depression. One in five Australian men experience depression at some stage in their lives and around 20,000 men in Australia are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year. So listen up guys: if hearing facts like these doesn't rouse the little stubble on your upper lip, then you're in serious trouble. If growing some fluff isn’t enough, or you're left looking a little patchy, then you could do what the town of Moama has done; change your name. This southern NSW community is changing the town's name to Motown for the whole of November. Moama has a rich farming history but with recent bouts of drought many men (and women) are doing it tough, and depression is affecting too many farmers. All the lovely ladies who develop skin irritations and find themselves constantly sneezing can get amongst the growth. You know how it goes — the farmer wants a wife. What better way to make those Motown Bros smile? But if shacking up with a farmer is about as inviting for you as actually growing a 'lady lip' (aka femme Mo), Mo Sistas is the next best thing. Mo Sistas can donate to the cause, raise awareness and support a rally. For more details and how to register your magnificent mo, visit www.movember.com
