P.E Nation Serves Balletcore With Muted Tones and Barre-Inspired Activewear in New Spring Collection
It's fitting for the year of the ballet flat.
The balletcore aesthetic – inspired by ballerinas and their functional attire – returns in different formats every year. Coquette-ish 'pilates princess' athleisure filled reformer studios in 2024. Last year saw the rise of the 'sneakerina', where ballet sneakers – Puma Speedcat Ballet was a top pick – dominated the streets.
Australia-born activewear label P.E Nation's spring collection takes balletcore further into casual territory. The brand brings its street-ready sensibility to SOFT FORM – a spring collection spanning halter sports bras, scoop tanks, boleros and high-waisted leggings.
The collection's palette is muted: espresso brown, blush pink, deep black and whisper white. Contrast trims – a throwback to '80s atheleisure – lend the pieces a playful finish, while crossback straps and wrap fronts borrow from classical dancewear.
