Overview
Art plus bar. This almost universal gallery opening deal is a pretty tasty mix already. But the MCA adds extras to this time-honoured tradition with its now SMAC-winning series ARTBAR. They’re evenings of strange and interesting things at play among the art, recurring monthly and curated by a rotating cast of local artists.
This month, it's the Primavera artists' turn. Come and see Jacqueline Ball, Jackson Eaton, Heath Franco, Thomas Jeppe, Jess Johnson, Juz Kitson, Kusum Normoyle and curator Robert Cook take on the gallery space.
There'll be installations; video works; music performances by Steele Bonus, Roman Wafers, Horse Magyver and Standish Carlyon; and a stairwell soundscape. Not to mention that Primavera Edition also features artists as DJs all night long.
