UPDATE: MARCH 24, 2020 — Shangri-La's Breakfast in the Sky has been postponed until further notice in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and the Australian Government's decision to close all indoor venues. New dates are yet to be announced, but we'll be sure to keep you updated. To find out more about the status of COVID-19 in Australia and how to protect yourself, head to the Australian Government Department of Health's website.

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So why not treat it as such? One Sydney spot that's letting you break your fast in style is Altitude Restaurant at the Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney, which is offering a luxe feast every day of the week. Better yet, it's serving it up with a side of sweeping harbour views — so you can take your brekkie game to the next level, literally.

Altitude's breakfast takes place from 6–10.30am on weekdays and from 6.30–10.30am on weekends. Book yourself a table on the hotel's 36th floor and settle in for a sumptuous spread. At the buffet, you'll find yoghurt, fruit salads, cereals, cheese and charcuterie. There'll also be a selection of freshly baked breads and pastries by Sonoma Bakery — think fruit brioche, almond plié and cinnamon scrolls.

On top of all that, you get an a la carte dish; choose from the likes of french toast, eggs benedict on crumpets with smoked salmon or ham, sweet corn and zucchini fritters, congee, a traditional English-style breakfast or fried rice with either wagyu beef or prawns.

For $59, you'll get all that food, plus coffee, teas and juice. And, if you're looking to add a little libation to your meal, you can sip bloody marys, mimosas, bellinis, spritzes and bottles of fine French bubbly for an additional cost.

Altitude's Breakfast in the Sky takes place every day of the week. To make a booking, head this way
