UPDATE: MARCH 14, 2020 — Live Nation has announced that Comedy Steps Up for Bushfire Relief will no longer go ahead "due to the announcement by the Australian Government recommending against all non-essential organised gatherings of over 500 people". Ticket holders will receive a full refund.

To raise funds for bushfire-affected Australians, the firefighters combating the blazes, other volunteers and the animals suffering during the crisis, the Sydney Opera House is harnessing the power of laughter. Head along to the venue's big Comedy Steps Up for Bushfire Relief gig and you won't just chuckle, giggle and split your sides — you'll also be supporting folks and critters in need.
The outdoor gala performance will take place on the landmark's steps and forecourt on Monday, March 16, kicking off at 8pm. On the bill: Arj Barker, Tim Minchin, Becky Lucas and The Simpsons star Harry Shearer, as well as Carl Barron, Urzila Carlson, Joel Creasey, Kitty Flanagan and Julia Morris. That's not all, either, with more acts to be announced.
If you're keen, you'll want to nab a ticket quick smart when they go on sale at midday on Wednesday, January 15.
All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to a heap of worthy organisations, spanning the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery fund, the NSW Rural Fire Service, Wildlife Victoria and WIRES.
