Overview

While Vivid is kicking off in May for the first time in two years, Western Sydney residents who don't want to battle the public transport and huge crowds can rejoice with a mini-festival of lights popping up at Sydney Zoo for three weeks. Glow will take over the Bungarribee zoo between Friday, May 13 and Saturday, June 5 with more than 50 light installations and activations.

Each night between 5.30 and 9.30pm, patrons can wander the zoo and discover a twinkling tunnel of fairy lights, a safari of luminous animals and a huge range of interactive installations. Accompanying the iridescent art will be an ice rink, Ferris wheel, carnival rides and glow-in-the-dark golf.

Food trucks will be on-site, as well as a pop-up bar from Manly brewers 4 Pines and eats from Blacktown and Weatherill Park's barbecued meats specialists BlackBear BBQ.

The activations have been designed around the zoo to be mobility-friendly and wheelchair-accessible, with no hills or steps throughout.

Tickets to the event are $25 for both adults and children, plus all kids will receive a free UV torch and glow map that they can take through the activations.
