Overview

Whether or not a new pet is on the cards, dog-lovers will want to get to the Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park on Sunday, April 27. That's because National Greyhound Adoption Day is taking over for four cuddly hours from 10am.

The name of the event is no misnomer. If your loving home is looking for a loving addition, you'll have 60 greyhounds to consider taking with you. Plus, you won't have to stress about finding the perfect furry match. Expert pet matches will be onsite, helping you test your compatibility with the dog of your choice according to its personality and your lifestyle.

On top of that, there'll be carnival rides and show bags, giveaways from the Sydney Animal Hospital team, and a rugby comp, which could see you win big against NRL player Ryan Papenhuyzen. He'll be there alongside entertainer Todd McKenney – they're both ambassadors for Greyhounds as Pets.

Entry to National Greyhound Adoption Day is free, but registration is recommended. It's especially important if you're interested in adopting.
