Newcastle Food Month
You'll find a heap of meal deals and one-off events celebrating Novacastrian produce across Newcastle in April.
Overview
Regional hub Newcastle is celebrating its top-notch hospitality scene and world-class local produce over April with a month of food and drink pop-ups and special one-off meals.
After two horrid years for the hospitality industry, Newcastle Food Month serves as a great opportunity for locals to gather around their favourite venues and Sydneysiders to travel up to Newcastle, especially with multiple public holidays placed smack-bang in the middle of the month.
Kicking off with Le Diner en Blanc Newcastle on Saturday, April 2, the event will feature 40 events across the month of April. Returning for another year, the Plate Date program sees 50 local cafes, bars, restaurants and breweries offer a meal and drink deal for $25. Start your day at Argyle St, Independent with a mate where you can get two bacon and egg rolls and two coffees for a total of $25. Or, head to Ron & Raf where you can get crispy pork belly with a wombok salad, charred bok choy and a glass of wine.
Signal Box is doing weekly specials as part of the Plate Date. Depending on what week you head to the inner-city Newcastle spot, you'll be treated to Cloudy Bay clam linguine, seafood bouillabaisse or steak frites accompanied by a glass of Hunter Valley wine for $25.
Elsewhere on the program, there's a bread baking masterclass at Uprising Bakery, a Thai degustation from Benjamas Thai, a deep-dive into natural wine paired with a seven-course feast, and a Tuscany-inspired banquet at Harrison's Food and Wine.
