SURPLUS by Supply Store and Nike
Darlinghurst is getting another streetwear takeover, as this stacked community-led event returns for three days of fashion, food, music and culture.
Overview
SURPLUS is running it back for a second year, having hosted a huge debut celebration of streetwear culture across 21 Darlinghurst venues in 2025. Once again, Supply Store and Nike are behind the event, with influential international names, independent collectives and exclusive products in the mix, bringing underground tunes, in-the-know brands and culinary goodness to the forefront for a limited time.
Held from Friday, October 16–Sunday, October 18, the program kicks off on day one with the Diya Joukani Night Market, curated by the eponymous Mumbai-based designer. Think an after-dark collision of contemporary South Asian culture, food, fashion and sound, with independent vendors, one-of-a-kind goods and DJ sets. The following day, it's all about independent brands and emerging labels as SURPLUS's Marketplace stretches down Burton Street from 10am–6pm.

Here, more than 60 local vendors and 15 international names run alongside niche publishers, makers, sellers and collectives. Who's involved? Tokyo-based diner Breakfast Club takes over EEF Coffee, while one of Australia's favourite pre-loved designer sellers, Curated By Charbel, hosts a one-day pop-up at Prim Haus. Meanwhile, zine-lovers can browse the dedicated community-submitted stand for the latest works.
The weekend-long lineup also features standout international food. On Friday afternoon, NYC's Lower East Side institution Scarr's Pizza slings slices from AP Pizza. Then, on Saturday, Tokyo's Menshirashi serves its viral carbonara udon in the Marketplace. Plus, returning from year one, Matty Matheson's cult-followed Matty's Patty's is flipping signature smash burgers.

Like the debut edition, music is front and centre. Stacked with six headline shows across two Darlinghurst venues — Oxford Art Factory and the National Art School, transformed into an open-air stage — the lineup features American grungegaze band Glare, hyperpop duo Oddly Satisfying, electro duo Suzy Sheer and the homecoming of local hardcore heroes, SPEED.
Finally, closing out this instalment of SURPLUS, Japanese collective Rainbow Disco Club makes its Sydney debut with an electronic day party. With almost two decades of house, disco and balearic tunes to dig into, this three-day experience is getting the send-off it deserves.
