No Coal Zone — POSTPONED
Jamie xx, The Avalanches and Midnight Juggernauts are hosting a rave to save the planet with all proceeds going to charity.
Overview
UPDATE: MARCH 13, 2020 — Due to health concerns surrounding COVID-19, No Coal Zone has been postponed. We'll let you know when a new date has been announced.
The mining, transporting and burning of coal is one of the biggest contributors to global carbon dioxide emissions, putting a strain on our planet and having a big impact on the climate crisis. In Australia alone, we have dealt with drought, fire and floods at increased intensity in the last year. In response, Young Turks, Client Earth and DP Immersive are inviting you to rave to save the planet.
Headlined by English producer Jamie xx, No Coal Zone will also see DJ sets from The Avalanches and Midnight Juggernauts. Also on the bill are Heaps Gay and Friends, Ptwiggs and DeepFaith.
All proceeds from the gig will go towards ClientEarth — one of the world's leading environmental law charities — and DP Immersive Climate Education.
As punters enter Hordern Pavilion for No Coal Zone, they'll also get to watch a screening of Jonathan Zawada and Mark Pritchard's striking audiovisual work The Four Worlds.
