Secret Garden

It's like Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan rolled into one festival weekend.

Overview

The Secret Garden is a festival combining some of Australia's most exciting creative acts. But it's not really a festival, nor is it particularly secret, at least not in the way we'd usually think of it. More than anything else it's a weekend-long fundraiser on a farm in Camden with camping, free alcohol, trippy art installations and people in fancy dress.
Inspired by some of the boutique festivals which dot the British countryside during summertime, Secret Garden are hoping to inspire the same kind of deal in Australia. By spreading the word through Chinese whispers, they're hoping to maintain a small and familial vibe, so that if you don't know the person standing next to you, the chances are that your friend will. And it's for a good cause, as all profits go to the Sarah Hilt Foundation, which raises money for sufferers of Meningococcal disease.
This year's lineup includes CanyonsDeep Sea Arcade, The Paper ScissorsAndy Bull and Emma Davis, as well as the chance to sleep in a teepee and trees decorated to give you the impression you may or may not be on acid. It's kind of like Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland rolled into one ephemeral weekend.
Concrete Playground is going to have a photo booth set up amongst things to capture all the craziness, so if you're feeling photogenic you're more than welcome to come say 'hello.'

Note: The event is now sold out.
