Sunday Roast at Bistro Moncur
First cab off the rank is Dewsbury pork belly, surrounded by a Yorkshire pudding and duck fat potatoes.
Overview
Winter in Woollahra has become unimaginable without Sunday roast at Bistro Moncur. And, now that the chilly weather has set in, it's back for another round.
Starting off this season's series is Dewsbury pork belly, which arrives at your table in thick slices, surrounded by Yorkshire pudding and duck fat potatoes, with sides of leek fondue, apple puree and mustard jus. It's 45 bucks a plate.
The menu will be changing every six weeks. So, if the pork belly does it for you, you'll want to get in again quickly. But, if you miss it, you'll have some other tasty dish to look forward to — though we don't have the details quite yet.
Like all of Bistro Moncur's creations, the brains behind the Sunday roast is London-born chef Tom Deadman. He took over the 30-year-old kitchen in 2022, having worked at Read's in the UK (which had a Michelin star at the time), as well as Becasse in Surry Hills and Hotel Centennial, also in Woollahra.
