Overview

Spend a cruisy summer Saturday evening listening to acoustic songs and staring at Sydney Harbour thanks to Cockatoo Island's sunset sessions. Most Saturdays until March 28, you'll be able to listen to music from local and international acoustic musicians.

Venue 505 — which is sadly closing its Surry Hills spot in December — has curated the lineup, so you know you're in for an ace run of talent. The series will kick off with folk jazz singer Alice Terry, and will be followed by 20-year-old Woorabinda artist Miiesha and Sydney rapper Taj Ralph. There'll also be a special First Nations event on November 30 with performances from Bow and Arrow, Evie J Willie and Indigenous Enterprise.

Sets start at 5pm, but we recommend heading over to the island early to soak up as much sun as possible. And, because the combination of great music and gorgeous views begets some refreshments, there will be beer and wine, as well as cheese and charcuterie boxes available to purchase. Tickets are $30 each.
