Overview

There’s nothing indecent about a bit of exposure, which is exactly what Object contributes to the overall fanfare of Sydney Design 09. Fashion, no stranger to partial nudity, is represented in the form of MATERIALBYPRODUCT’s range, which plays literally on the age-old term ‘fashion house’. Their ‘curtain gowns’ - which are a little bit curtain, a little bit gown - are presented by models who are undressed and redressed before your eyes, ostensibly to perform the versitility and wearability of the range. In another take on exposure, the Manufacturing Mavericks talks reveal the manufacturing and marketing experiences of six entrepreneurs in the design industry. Question-time with drinks afterwards gives you the chance and dutch courage to pick the brains of those who have been there and learn from their experiences.
