Cross Section made its name with one very good sandwich, but there's more going on here than the viral chicken Caesar wrap. Founded by friends Josh Said and Brent Wasserman, the sandwich shop started as a tiny Darlinghurst operation and has since expanded to a second location in Bondi Junction. Both are built around good sandwiches, fast service, and food that travels well. The social media-famous chicken Caesar wrap is the signature, packed with poached chicken, iceberg lettuce, parmesan, Caesar dressing and house-made croutons, all wrapped in fresh Lebanese bread. But the menu goes well beyond it, with sandwiches such as the Mambo No. 5, made with fresh turkey, alongside breakfast options, salads, snacks and a growing drinks menu. The Bondi Junction shop gives the brand more room to work with, while Darlinghurst retains the original hole-in-the-wall feel that helped build its following. There are also iced matchas, iced tea, and a salted maple almond latte with a salted caramel foam.
