A 'Game of Thrones'-Style Medieval Banquet Is Coming to Sydney

It'll be just like The Red Wedding — but with more ale and less murder.

Overview

Winter might still be months away, but the final series of Game of Thrones is set to air on April 14. If the show's comeback will have you spiralling into an all-consuming GoT hole, then you will probably want to get in on Sydney's latest themed event. Call your banners and get ready for an immersive medieval-style banquet reminiscent of the series.

Prepare for a meal that not only replicates the fascinating and often terrifying world of GoT that so many have come to depend on for meaning in life, but will include a brunch feast, lots of ale, and some murderous entertainment. Many details of the event are still shrouded in mystery (much like the eventual outcome of the series), including the date and price. The location hasn't been announced, but will be somewhere in inner Sydney.

But we can guess the specific theme. Taking its cues from a particularly notorious episode of HBO's hit series, this immersive banquet will surely be styled after the Red Wedding. Yes, you can assume there'll be some recreations of scenes from George R. R. Martin's saga — although here's hoping there's no regicide at this one.

If, like Jon Snow, you know nothing, then you're in for an entertaining feast. Costumes are welcome, but no pretend (or real) weaponry.

The banquet will happen in Sydney later this year. Further details — and tickets — will be released soon. We'll let you know when they are.
