Overview
Beer garden season is upon us and Sydney now has a beauty thanks to The Sporting Globe x 4 Pines Brew Pub. The King Street Wharf newcomer boasts Darling Harbour's largest beer garden — and it's also 'Australia's first and largest combined brew pub and sports bar'.
As the name makes plain, this sprawling 1700-square-metre venue is a collaboration between sports bar and grill company The Sporting Globe and Aussie brewery 4 Pines. The aim: to become Sydney's new go-to for watching sports, drinking brews made fresh on-site and eating American-style wings, ribs and burgers. The 50-plus screens (using more than 60 kilometres of cables) and The Sporting Globe's signature booths should all help, as should the exclusive 4 Pines brews, the joint's 850-person capacity and this summer's lineup of events. Whatever type of game you're into, it's likely to be showing on a screen here somewhere.
Also on offer: function spaces for parties and events, such as Christmas and end-of-year shindigs. The beer garden has harbour views, or you can opt for a private space with its own brew bar.
The Sporting Globe x 4 Pines Brew Pub has been open since late November, following a multimillion-dollar refurbishment. If you're looking for an excuse to drop by — other than the above — free wings should definitely tempt you. Sign up for the venue's free app, and you'll be tucking into a half-dozen in no time.
