Overview

Eating on a budget can get pretty uninspiring, but a visit to Bo 7 Mon Thanh Tam proves it doesn't need to be. Following the temporary closure of the Market City food court, this Vietnamese eatery set up shop inside the Mountbatten Hotel. The prices might have been bumped up a notch, but they are still some of the most reasonable you'll find in Sydney. The Vietnamese classic, beef pho, is an absolute steal at $10. It's also one of the best you'll find in Sydney, at any price. There's no dilly-dallying around — expect rich, traditional flavours, and a sizeable serving. If beef isn't your thing, there's a bunch of other cheap-as-chips options, like shredded pork and spring roll noodle salad and bun mang ga (steamed chicken and rice noodle soup), both at $11.50.
