Overview

Garfish is something of an institution to Crows Nest locals. Famed for its fresh seafood selection, great wine list and outstanding service, it's a hard place to beat.

The current menu boasts starters such as salt and pepper New Zealand arrow squid with chilli, garlic and coriander; seared scallops with cauliflower puree, black pudding and apple; a bluefin tuna ceviche with coriander oil and tempura seaweed; and snapper and king prawn zucchini flowers with aioli.

There are oysters, too, with freshly shucked Coffin Bay oysters served either natural, Kilpatrick, crispy fried with wakame salad or as a bloody mary shot.

For a main look towards a Sri Lankan fish and king prawn curry; a snapper pie with brocollini and roasted garlic; or a fruits de mer platter with a selection of entrees, chargrilled shellfish and chips. Speaking of the chargrill there are Moreton Bay bugs with herb butter and Queensland king prawns with carrot harissa available.

The wine list is pretty extensive, so it's bound to have something you're after. A healthy range of Aussie shiraz is available to help round out those mains. Or, opt for a cocktail or Aussie craft beer.

If you happen to be swinging by on a Tuesday, they offer BYO for a small corkage per person. BYO won't be accepted from Wednesday through Saturday.
