Foley Street Creative Spaces
A laneway creative precinct featuring a rotating roster of local artists showing off their wares.
November 30, 2016
Foley Street Creative Spaces is somewhat like your local weekend artisanal markets, except instead of having to wait for Saturday to come around, they're open every day. Foley Street in Darlinghurst is part of the City of Sydney's Oxford Street and Foley Street Creative Spaces Program, aimed at growing the creative community by providing affordable retail and work spaces for artists and designers.
Set just behind Oxford Street, this miniature laneway shopping precinct is comprised of five neighbouring shopfronts, each leased to a different creative tenant. The overall effect is a sweet sense of community. Go to scout out a quirky gift, or simply to browse local designers' wares for artistic inspiration.
The four shops currently taking up residence include Spunky Bruiser, Bermuda Black, Studio Enti and Fine Fellow. Inside you'll find a slew of jewellery, artworks, homewares and fashion. If you're looking for an evening activity, keep an eye out for an array of workshops and networking events on offer. There's always something happening after hours.
