Swiss running and lifestyle brand On has opened its first Sydney store, taking up residence on Level 3 of Westfield Bondi Junction from Thursday, August 20.
It's the brand's second store in Australia after its Melbourne flagship at Emporium, and pushes On's global retail footprint past 70 stores across more than 80 countries. The choice of Bondi Junction is a deliberate one: the surrounding suburbs, from Bondi Beach to Tamarama, are some of the most run-obsessed postcodes in the country, threaded with coastal paths that draw locals out at sunrise most days of the week.
That connection to the coast runs through the store's design. Across 493 square metres, sandy tones, muted greens and off-whites reinterpret the textures of the shoreline, with the concept directly referencing two of the area's best-known routes: the scenic Bondi to Coogee walk and the considerably more demanding Bondi to Manly Ultra run. Organic seating takes its shape from Sydney's rock formations and Hawkesbury sandstone, set against sleek aluminium and matte concrete finishes, locally sourced floor tiles and a gradient-painted feature wall by Australian outfit Pretty in Paint Australia.

We're excited to put some Swiss roots down in Bondi and create a space that reflects the charm of Bondi and shares latest performance innovations to the local Sydney community," says Lauren Portelli, Commercial Director Oceania at On.
Inside, the new store carries On's full assortment of footwear, apparel and accessories for running, training, tennis, outdoor and all-day wear, alongside limited drops from collaborators Post Archive Faction, Sky High Farm Goods and Erewhon. On was born in the Swiss Alps in 2010, and 16 years on delivers its CloudTec and LightSpray innovations to a fast-growing global fan base under the brand's Dream On ethos. The new Bondi Junction store has also created more than 35 full- and part-time roles.
For anyone who's clocked more kilometres than they'd like to admit on the Bondi to Bronte stretch, the new store puts fitting, gear advice and the brand's latest drops a short walk from the sand.
On is at Level 3, Westfield Bondi Junction, 500 Oxford Street, Bondi Junction, open seven days from 9.30am (10am on Sunday).
