Overview

Sitting grand above Woolloomooloo, the Art Gallery of New South Wales is one of the largest in the country. Its permanent collections include everything from paintings to photography, audio clips and short films by both Australian and international artists. All up, there are five permanent galleries which you can check out for free, from the Yiribana Gallery showcasing artworks by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, to the Australian, European, Asian and Contemporary galleries. It also hosts a number of temporary exhibitions every year. To check out what's coming up, head here.

The Art Gallery of NSW is open daily, except Christmas Day and Good Friday.
