A long-running community theatre that runs on passion.

Overview

Love of the arts in its truest sense is behind everything you will experience on a visit to the New Theatre. It runs on a volunteer basis - from actors to technicians - so the productions are built on tiny budgets and a lot of passion. The shows are raw and bold; taboo subjects are brazenly explored covering everything from historical politics to human rights to mental health. As one of the longest-running theatre companies in Sydney - it was set up in 1932 - it has been the launchpad for many careers in the arts across its more than 550 productions. Visit for an authentic theatre experience: professional execution in a community setting.
