While the wellness boom remains in full flow, an assortment of especially luxe arrivals are starting to steal the limelight. The latest, Sansara, opens in Double Bay on Monday, October 19, and matches its upmarket surroundings with an uncompromising, members-only approach to movement, recovery, hospitality and connection — all within one considered setting.
While the actual Soho House is set to make its long-awaited Australian debut in Sydney in 2028, Sansara hopes to bring a similar rarefied experience, just with an even greater focus on wellness. This means state-of-the-art amenities and a deeply considered members' experience, creating an environment where the outside world recedes and the calm returns.
The offering spans three wellness spaces, designed to unfold as a continuous journey. Move is a studio for pilates, yoga, breathwork, meditation and more, featuring earthen materials and soft, subtle lighting. Then, the recovery space, Rest, brings science and serenity together through therapies spanning IV drips, oxygen and hydrogen therapy and red light infrared panels.
Yet the bathhouse, Bathe, is where members can slow down and reset their nervous system. Think amenities like communal and female-only saunas, a magnesium bath, a cold plunge, an ice bucket and a tea bar. Moving through one space to the next, the entire concept is inspired by the Sanskrit idea of Saṃsāra — the continuous circle of life.
For members, Sansara's social component is partly captured through cuisine. While other high-end clubs trade decadence for healthy but restrictive dishes, in-house restaurant Ruby's is switching things up. Guided by the Bambini Group, abundance awaits, with seasonal flavours served from breakfast through dinner, featuring vibrant pastas, local seafood and wellness-minded salads.
Beyond sharing a meal at Ruby's, members can also take part in a stimulating events program, from intimate founder roundtables to networking events and live music salons. What's more, each membership also includes a guest pass, where regulars can bring a friend or family member up to twice per month. Of course, your application has to make the cut first.
