The Manly Fast Ferry is, well, fast, but not so quick that you don't have time to sip back a brew as you skip across the waves between Manly Wharf and Circular Quay. With this in mind, Felons Brewing Co. — also based on Manly Wharf — have been welcomed aboard, loading the ferry's fridges with tasty beverages, including the brewery's new Japanese Rice Lager.
However, this partnership is about more than just serving up a refreshing drink during a rapid commute. Every can of Japanese Rice Lager sold will also help to remove plastic and microplastics from Sydney Harbour through the brewery's ongoing partnership with Seabin — the creator of a nifty floating rubbish bin that intercepts waste.
Since Seabin launched in 2020, it has removed over 20.2 million pieces of plastic and 11.1 million microplastics from our waters. And in Sydney Harbour alone, its clever tech captures an average of one piece of plastic waste every seven seconds, while removing oils and other pollutants. So if the water looks super clear, you know who deserves a good deal of credit.

"This partnership comes at a defining moment for us as we prepare to brew our very first beers from our new state-of-the-art brewery at Manly Wharf."
To celebrate this feel-good initiative, the Manly Fast Ferry is making Felons beers available for $6 from Monday, August 10–Sunday, August 16, giving everyone the perfect excuse to grab a drink as they cross the harbour. Besides Japanese Rice Lager, other on-board Felons bevs include their Australian Pale Ale, Galaxy Haze, Jinga Ginger Beer and Crisp Light varieties.
