Overview

Your dog is your best friend, so it only makes sense that their accommodation is just as inviting as yours when you next head away. With this in mind, fresh dog food brand Lyka has partnered with off-grid cabin company Unyoked to create a new nature-led experience that evokes restorative goodness for you and your four-legged pals.

Available to book from Monday, September 21–Sunday, October 25, Unyoked has given two of their cabins an extra dog-friendly makeover. Now called the Lyka Lodge, locations in the lush Tarra Valley, about 200 kilometres from Melbourne, and Pokolbin in the Hunter Valley — a two-hour drive from Sydney — are designed to get people travelling more with their dogs.

Sure, your dog will love curling up next to the fireplace. But these locations also offer a well-stocked selection of Lyka treats, as well as dog puzzles, dog beds and even a dog stick library so they can indulge in the finer things in life too. Of course, when it's time to explore, this dog-first stay will put a little more pep in their step, not that they likely needed it.

"The noise and pace of modern life doesn't just wear on us; it wears on our dogs too. They live our schedules, our screen time, our overloaded weeks," says Unyoked co-founder Cameron Grant. "The irony is, dogs figured out a long time ago what the rest of us are only just remembering — that time outside isn't a treat; it's a requirement."

With dog-friendly stays increasingly on the rise, finding accommodation that not only provides more than the basics but also positively impacts your furry friend's wellbeing is becoming more important. According to Lyka's research, 65 percent of Australian dog owners wish it were easier to take their dog somewhere with genuine space and nature.

Now, spending more time in Australia's pristine countryside with your dog is made possible by reducing the barriers that often get in the way. Think cosy comforts, plenty of high-quality food, and abundant nature on your tiny house doorstep, ensuring a much-needed wellbeing experience awaits your canine companion and those who love them.

Lyka Lodge Melbourne and Lyka Lodge Sydney are available for bookings from Monday, September 21–Sunday, October 25. Head to the website for more information.
