Open every day from midday until late, Smiths describes themselves as serving beer and food "for the Smiths not the swords, for the shepherds, not the sheep". Take from that what you will, but know that you can certainly trust them on the beer front. The venue even offers a Hopaganda information pack to ensure you know the difference between an ale and a porter as well as the anatomy of a hop.

The food menu has a clever beer pairing section, so you know which hoppy delight to sip while feasting. Our pick, the Louisiana-style po boys ($18) which feature the best local ingredients and come with a side of hand-cut fries — choose between tempura sweet potato, lamb souvlaki, hopper pork, beef short rib or jerked chicken. For an unforgettable taste sensation, order a schooner of hoppy IPA and a jerked chicken po boy and let the flavours do their magic.
