Overview
For the first time ever, the AURA Festival of Artist Moving Images is hitting the streets of Wellington. The week-long program, which will annually move between cities, will feature a diverse range of film screenings, installations and performances. This latest addition to the capital's art scene is a celebration of our country's creative diversity, touching on themes such as home, shared values and personal space.
Running from 28 September to 5 October, AURA is presented by Wellington-based art agency CIRCUIT. With an impressive range of artists, styles and cultures present in the work it only made sense to host this festival on the streets of the oh-so-trendy Newtown.
Explore the one-day installation of Home Movies, with 26 artist-made videos showing in Newtown shops, businesses and cultural spaces. You can find maps for this comprehensive art trail at the Newtown Library. View a new documentary by artist-in-residence John Lake or sit back and enjoy three new performances by Louie Neale, Raewyn Martin, Anna Brimer and Max Fleury. Plus so much more Kiwi art and talent to appreciate.
