Ceramicus 2019
Explore the wonderful world of pottery at this two-week festival.
Overview
The perfect event for all pottery aficionados and those who simply appreciate the beauty in ceramic art, Ceramicus 2019 is here. This annual showcase of work is proudly presented by the Wellington Potters Association as a showcase of contemporary ceramics and for enthusiasts to meet local creatives.
This year, Ceramicus will run for two weeks at the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts on Queens Wharf. Beginning on 2 November, this unique exhibition of pottery and ceramics is a true celebration of colour, clay and creativity. In conjunction with SPLASH 2019, you'll also get the chance to admire some breathtaking watercolour art, complementing the ceramic work perfectly.
Local artist Jane McCulla will be this year's guest artist and selector. A master of ceramics, Jane creates exquisite clay vessels and forms, with a strong focus on textures. Handmade in her Canterbury home studio, she'll be showcasing a selection of her finest work alongside fellow Kiwi potters.
