Overview

If musicals are your buzz, then you can't go past the most gorgeous, charming and downright adorkable of them all, Funny Face.

When savvy photographer, Fred Astaire, spots the funny lookin' West Village brain box, Audrey Hepburn, he's sure he's just discovered The Next Big Thing in fashion. Two tickets to Paris later, the awkward-but-cute dame's got a shot at fashion stardom, and a piece of his heart to boot.

Oozing fifties panache and dripping with Gershwin cool, this technicolour musical belongs to a time when any heart-shaped problem could be solved by a sharp suit, jazz  hands and fancy footwork.

The 1957 musical forms part of The Embassy's Classic Weekends, which will run throughout Autumn, taking in everything from black and white masterpieces to challenging art house cult hits. Funny Face will be followed by Aguirre: Wrath of God (Sunday, April 20, 6pm) and On the Waterfront (Sunday, April 27, 4pm).
