Daffodils and Lips at The Roxy

Death, drama and rolling hillsides. A lovestruck George Mason, crying Rose McIver and all-grown-up Kimbra in pert vintage outfits, and the whole film is set to the Kiwi tune of Crowded House and Bic Runga — Daffodils is gonna set you back a fair few tears. A New Zealand love story straight from the stage, set to the music you know and desperately want to sing to at the most inappropriate moments.

But if you're reading this and thinking 'pfft, nostalgic Kiwi romance movies just aren't my buzz' then you're in luck — there's a bit of Daffodils out there to suit everybody. The Roxy is teaming up with the film's composers for the April event we've been waiting for — hardcore film fans, music fans and George Mason fans can mingle after the film at the after-party.

Playing the songs you'll have just heard (and heard inescapably for most of your life), Lips is the Silver Scroll-winning duo of Stephanie Brown and Fen Ikner. Covering all your favourites, audience participation is guaranteed — better bring another tissue for the all-time Daffodils tearjerker 'Fall at Your Feet'.

The $30 ticket deal includes a welcoming drink, a ticket to the soon-to-be-Kiwi-classic Daffodils, and an exclusive invitation to the Lips after-party. Might want to bring your own tissues though.
